ABOUT ME

Hello and thank you for visiting my website.

I'm a Lincoln-based qualified and UKCP-registered Integrative Child Psychotherapist with an Enhanced DBS Check and a passion for helping children, young people and adults make sense of things, develop more personal resilience and lead happier lives.

For more than fourteen years I have worked therapeutically with children, young people and adults in a variety of areas (London, Nottingham, Barnsley and Lincolnshire) and have worked cross-culturally with individuals, children and families from different backgrounds, needs and lived experiences. All these involvements coupled with highly diverse personal experiences enable me to keep open-minded and adaptable and work cross-culturally.

If you are wondering what psychotherapy is and does, I can tell you that its core aim is to create a consistent, warm, confidential and non-judgemental space that helps young and adult clients become, over time, psychologically and emotionally more integrated as a result of working things out in a boundaried therapeutic relationship. So as young and adult clients start to benefit from their weekly sessions they begin to feel more secure in themselves and their abilities and in their relationships - new and positive changes become possible.

Although I have some online presence where I've shared matters personal to me (e.g. a published essay in a collection of poems and personal essays), I rarely talk about myself in therapy sessions as my focus lies on my clients and their needs.

As I work with different clients and a variety of concerns and needs, as an integrative psychotherapist I use a combination of psychotherapy theories and creative interventions to match my clients' developmental, psychological and individual needs.

In my clinical supervisory practice I offer support to clinical and non-clinical practitioners who work with families, children, adolescents, young adults and adults.

These are the therapy modalities I combine in my private practice:

* Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy and Counselling

* Attachment-based Psychotherapy

* Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy

* Psychodynamic Psychotherapy

* Humanistic Psychotherapy and Person-Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy

* Brain- and Trauma-informed Theories (e.g. NMT by Dr Bruce Perry)

* Social Neuroscience (e.g. Affect Regulation Theory and Polyvagal Theory)

* EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing Therapy)

* Use of Embodied Approaches in Psychotherapy
