Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychotherapy Clinical Supervision
(online and in-person)
Clinical Supervision Services
My clinical supervision services can support trainee practitioners as well as newly qualified and experienced clinical practitioners who support children, young people, young adults, adults and families. Supporting non-clinical professionals in supportive roles is also a service I offer.
Presently I am a Group Supervisor in placement in Nottingham Counselling Centre.
Modalities used in Clinical Supervision Services
Apart from the modalities I list on the left hand side column in the page About, I also work with the lens of Intersectionality (Crenshaw, 1989) as well as with the approach found in Intercultural Supervision where identity, positionality and contexts (outside and inside the therapeutic dyad and the supervisory space.) These supervisory and therapeutic frameworks greatly enhance therapy clients’ experiences in therapy and overall wellbeing, and greatly enhance supervisees’ professional practice and development.
As I work cross-culturally, a wide range of practitioners can benefit from the supervision services.
A great number of practitioners of colour inevitably work closely within intersectionality and intercultural practice due to our ability to work cross-culturally with a wide variety of individuals and due to our long-term experiences of being socially racialised which result in deeper perceptual, contextual and cultural knowledge and acumen.
In my clinical supervisory experience I have found that White practitioners who are prepared to explore their identities and positionalities and who are keen to support their clients at a much deeper level (using the lenses of intersectionality and intercultural practice) greatly enhance their practices and professional and personal growth - which translates into higher levels of therapy clients’ wellbeing and positives outcomes of therapy.
